Finding someone who invests care in your learning is one of the most competitive advantages you can give yourself.
Partner with Me for Growth and Success
Whether you’re a recent graduate or a seasoned professional, growth is an important part of your success as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. Partnering with the right mentor is key. Finding someone who invests care in your learning is one of the most competitive advantages you can give yourself.
Over the 20+ years that I have been in the field of listening and spoken language, I have relished extraordinary career opportunities that have built the perspective I take in my coaching: I served as a private therapist in Venezuela, worked as part of a team in a large cochlear implant program, ran a solo practice in my hometown of Ann Arbor and launched a small clinical practice serving the Metro Detroit area. These days, I am proud to focus my work on mentoring professionals who are just starting down the Listening and Spoken Language path and to engage in learning with schools and other programs who desire better outcomes for their children. The LSL professionals who work with me develop skills in addition to knowledge; I take pride in creating practical strategies that are tailored to each situation and each individual.
Mentoring for Your LSL Specialist Certification
Your mentorship is more than a requirement that you must fulfill for certification: it is an opportunity to learn and grow with the help of a professional. Starting with Questions
I have found myself recently focusing a lot of my attention on asking questions. Asking questions of the professionals that I am coaching allows me to listen rather than talk. Asking questions of the parents and caregivers that I work with gives me their perspective...

I had the pleasure recently of being interviewed for Hearing First (www.hearingfirst.org ) during their Live Learn LSL campaign. I don’t always like talking about myself, but this chance to “tell my story” was gratifying because it gave me a chance to really reflect...
